Danilo Dueñas

Country | COLOMBIA

The Colombian artist, born in 1956, has participated in multiple international exhibitions, including the DAAD Program in Berlin. He uses unusual surfaces and creates unconventional shapes instead of the canvas, making his work a unique experience. The use of recycled woods allows for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works that draw attention to detail. His generally geometric work is framed within the most important school of constructivism in South America. Typically, his pieces appear unfinished as he is drawn to what is happening in his surroundings. Objects and wooden drawers, formica, and metal become canvases when intervened with graffiti and paint in other colors. His preference for primary and neutral colors gives strength and value to his proposal.
